Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate, FP&A for the Federal Practice to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. You will build and maintain models, track KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to Federal Practice and PSS leadership. The role requires 4–5 years of FP&A experience and strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Travel may be required. A CPA/CMA/MBA is a plus, and experience with SAP, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Deltek Costpoint is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of progressive FP&A experience, including financial modeling and management reporting.
• Experience with government-contracting environments is a plus but not required.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecast, and long-range planning for the Federal Practice in coordination with finance leadership.
• Build and validate financial models; produce outputs for reporting and decision support.
• Produce weekly/monthly KPI reporting (WIP, ETC/EAC, aging AR/AP, indirect spend, profitability).
• Perform variance analysis against plan and explain drivers of gaps.
• Develop headcount, compensation, and development spend models aligned with talent strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership across the Federal Practice and PSS.
• Support data analysis needs for decision-makers and roll up results to PSS-level planning.
