Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support enterprise planning, scenario management, and regulatory forecasting within the MRP&A/ SP&A framework. The role collaborates with Reporting, Strategy, Data Center, and Control teams to own complex processes and provide insights to senior stakeholders across planning cycles.

The position emphasizes governance, model ownership in Anaplan, and cross-functional execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in FP&A, management reporting, strategic planning, or a related finance role.
• Experience supporting enterprise planning, forecasting, or regulatory processes strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with planning systems (Anaplan experience preferred).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and operate independently with limited oversight.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or similar analytics experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise profit plan, strategic financial plan (SFP), forecast, and scenario development processes.
• Assist with ownership and governance of enterprise assumptions, sensitivities, and scenario drivers.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate strategic initiatives into financial impacts and planning inputs.
• Coordinate planning inputs and timelines related to CCAR and regulatory forecasting activities.
• Support documentation, controls, and governance associated with CCAR planning processes.
• Partner with strategy, reporting, and control teams to ensure consistency across regulatory and management views.
• Serve as a key lead for enterprise planning models in Anaplan.
• Support model enhancements, testing, data validation, and coordination with Finance IT and Data Center teams.
• Help establish and maintain standardized planning workflows, controls, and user guidance.
• Partner closely with Executive Management Reporting, Strategic Planning, and Data Center teams to ensure alignment across planning and reporting cycles.
• Support ad hoc analysis and executive requests related to enterprise financial performance and outlook.
• Proactively identify risks, gaps, or improvement opportunities within planning processes and elevate as appropriate.
• Support development and maintenance of process documentation, calendars, and control artifacts.
• Assist in strengthening governance, handoffs, and ownership across integrated MRP&A / SP&A workflows.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, automation, and risk reduction.
