Job summary

Symetra is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to oversee operating expenses and lead planning cycles across assigned business areas.

You will craft insightful reports, partner with business leaders, and own planning models that support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The role blends financial analysis with systems administration, requiring strong storytelling with data, proficiency in Excel and BI tools, and experience with planning platforms such as Anaplan.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
3+ years of FP&A, finance, analytics, or similar experience.
Experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, or reporting systems; Anaplan preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

Creates meaningful reports and insightful analysis to inform decision making.
Leads plan and forecasts for operating expenses.
Planning systems administration, model maintenance, and enhancements.
Performs month end responsibilities, including accruals, allocations, and miscellaneous journal entries.
