Job summary

HRL Laboratories, LLC seeks a Senior FP&A Analyst to join the finance team in California. Reporting to the FP&A Sr Manager, the candidate will bring 4+ years of financial planning and analysis experience in defense or R&D with strong modeling and insights for decision making.

This highly visible role will produce forecasts, variance analyses, and long-range plans, collaborating with Program Finance, Accounting, AR, and senior leadership including Directors, VPs, Executives, and the Board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis within the defense or R&D industry.
• Experience preparing and submitting FPRP and ICS submissions.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with government contracts and regulatory compliance preferred.
• Active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including indirect budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Lead and participate in the creation, submission, and auditing of FPRP and ICS.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis, to senior leadership.
• Support the development and execution of business strategies with financial analysis and recommendations.
• Provide data and analysis in support of internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts to foster continuous improvement.
