Job summary

Clark Construction Group in McLean, VA is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil and specialty foundation projects. You will interpret geotechnical data and drawings, build precise HeavyBid estimates, and coordinate with subs to secure competitive bids.

The role requires 5+ years in estimating, advanced HCSS HeavyBid skills, and strong communication to present risks and recommendations to executives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical field.
5+ years estimating experience in heavy civil or foundation.
Expert-level knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid.
Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong understanding of deep foundation and earth retention elements.

Responsibilities

Lead preparation of comprehensive estimates from takeoff to bid submission for various delivery methods.
Review geotechnical reports, boring logs and drawings to select drilling methods and shoring systems.
Build and manage cost estimates within HeavyBid with accurate labor, equipment and material allocations.
Maintain historical cost data and production rates to improve bid accuracy.
Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and vendors for specialized materials and services.
Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to determine cost-effective construction sequences and equipment spreads.
Identify and quantify project risks affecting budget.
