Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to improve security, release reliability, maintainability, and resilience of banking apps. You will lead hands-on engagements, code and configure across Java/Node.js ecosystems, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with development and client teams, implement remediation strategies, and enable sustained engineering practices. The role blends engineering, DevOps, and security in a client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of professional software engineering with recent production code experience.
• Advanced Java and JVM development; TypeScript skills valued for Node.js environments.
• Experience with Spring or similar enterprise frameworks.
• Proficiency in Test-Driven Development, automated testing, and multiple test frameworks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, quality gates, and deployments.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience upgrading runtimes, frameworks, libraries, dependencies, and OSes.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized delivery; OpenShift/Kubernetes knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues across testing, security, release, deployment, and resilience.
• Review code, dependencies, configurations, logs, and CI/CD pipelines to improve quality.
• Write, debug, test, and review production application code and configurations.
• Develop and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, regression, deployment smoke).
• Apply Test-Driven Development and select testing approaches.
• Source test data and apply masking for sensitive information in lower environments.
• Investigate vulnerabilities, perform remediation, and conduct regression testing.
• Upgrade Java/JVM, NPM runtimes, Spring components, libraries, and base images.
• Support automated dependency updates using Renovate or similar tools.
• Modernize legacy apps/middleware including WebSphere/WebLogic when applicable.
• Containerize apps with Docker and deploy on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Enhance Git workflows, branches, PRs, and code reviews.
