Job summary

Docker is seeking a highly experienced Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customer engineering teams, designing, prototyping, and delivering production-grade solutions using Docker products and patterns. You will own the technical journey from discovery to rollout, collaborating with product and engineering to scale innovations and ensure security standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with customer-facing roles.
• Leadership across engagements with ability to set standards and influence product direction.
• Expert production coding skills in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Deep Docker expertise: Dockerfiles, Compose, image/registry ops, networking and security.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agents in production.
• Knowledge of software supply chain security and hardened images.
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems (Okta/Entra ID/LDAP, SSO, secrets managers, Kubernetes).
• Ability to scope and deliver complex work in fast-moving customer environments.
• Excellent communication with engineers, security and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customer engineering teams to design, build, and ship solutions from prototype to production.
• Deliver technical artifacts like MCP servers and Docker Sandbox environments; Compose definitions; hardened image standards.
• Integrate Docker AI platform with customer stack (identity, secrets, registries, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability).
• Own delivery: scope work, sequence, trade-offs, unblock blockers, contribute code when needed.
• Translate security and compliance requirements into actionable plans for adoption of agentic AI.
• Define controls to enable safe adoption without compromising security or data sovereignty.
• Establish quality/performance thresholds with Product and Engineering.
• Partner with security/platform teams to move workloads through architecture review and change control.
• Work with Solutions Architects to enable off-the-shelf solutions and feed learnings into patterns.
• Support field during POC, escalations, and expansions; provide technical depth.
