Job description

New York City, NY · Hybrid (3 days/week in-office) · Full-time
Compensation: $180,000–$220,000 + equity

About the Company

Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed proptech company building an AI-native, self-service leasing platform that lets renters tour properties on their own schedule while helping property operators save time and cost on every lease. Founded in late 2024, they've already seen strong early traction across tens of thousands of units nationwide, and they're bringing their integration layer in-house as they scale.

Founded 2024 · ~22 people · Industry: Real Estate, AI, Enterprise

The Role

You'll own and build the integrations that connect the platform to third-party property management systems and bespoke client systems. This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role: you'll learn complex external systems quickly, scope integration work directly with customers, and take end-to-end ownership of the integration layer.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and maintaining integrations with property management systems and custom client systems
  • Joining customer calls to gather integration requirements and translating them into technical solutions
  • Designing and shipping zero-to-one integrations for enterprise customers with proprietary systems
  • Working closely with the platform and product teams to refactor and scale the system

Tech stack: Python, FastAPI, REST APIs

Requirements
  • 2–5 years of experience as a backend software engineer
  • Strong hands-on Python and FastAPI skills
  • A track record of building and maintaining third-party API integrations

  • Startup experience (roughly seed to Series A, under 50 people) with direct, hands-on ownership of your technical work
  • Customer-facing engineering experience
  • A BS in Computer Science or an equivalent technical degree
  • Based in the NYC area and able to work a 3-day hybrid schedule near Penn Station
Nice to Haves
  • Exposure to proptech or property management systems such as Yardi, Entrata, or RealPage
  • Experience with agentic AI workflows or LLM tooling
