Job summary

Fdetimes is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate with customers on data & AI projects using the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development.

The role is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring engineering excellence, curiosity, and strong communication to translate complex concepts into impactful solutions. Travel to customers up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of scalable data architectures combining data pipelines, ML/AI models, and UX interfaces.
• Experience with technical project delivery and managing scope.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery with reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide end-to-end design and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to meet requirements.
• Provide feedback to product and support teams to improve deployments.
