Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International seeks a Senior Formulation Chemist with deep expertise in surfactant chemistry to join our client’s technical team. This bench-focused role concentrates 90% on formulation and 10% on technical customer support, driving cutting-edge cleaning and surface care solutions.

The candidate will independently design, optimize, and test complex HI&I and Home Care formulations, and collaborate with sales and key customers to offer technical guidance and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years hands-on formulation in a lab with surfactant chemistry.
• Industry background in Household Care, HI&I cleaning, or Personal Care formulations.
• Education: BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related physical sciences.
• Autonomy: able to formulate independently from day one.
• Location & on-site: Boca Raton, FL; 5 days/week on-site lab.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, optimize, and test complex formulations focused on surfactants, solvent systems, and cleaning additives for HI&I and Home Care applications.
• Collaborate with sales teams and key customer accounts to provide technical solutions, product selection guidance, and troubleshooting.
• Perform rigorous analytical evaluation, maintain lab equipment, document trial data in enterprise systems, and uphold site safety standards.
• Partner with VP of Technology, SVP of Sales, and global supplier partners to drive new product development.
