Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International is seeking a Senior Formulation Chemist with deep expertise in surfactant chemistry to join our client’s technical team in a hands-on role. The position focuses on bench formulation (90%) and technical customer support (10%), designing cutting-edge cleaning and surface care solutions.

The candidate will independently design and test complex formulations, collaborate with sales teams and key accounts, and work with senior leadership to drive new product development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on formulation experience in a laboratory setting, with deep technical proficiency in surfactant chemistry.
• Experience in HI&I, Industrial & Institutional, or Personal Care formulations.
• Autonomy to formulate independently on the bench from day one.

Responsibilities

• Formulation Excellence: Independently design, optimise, and test complex formulations focused on surfactants and cleaning additives.
• Technical Service & Customer Support: Provide technical solutions and guidance to sales teams and key customer accounts.
• Bench & Lab Operations: Conduct analytical evaluation, maintain lab equipment, and document trial data in enterprise systems.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with VP of Technology, SVP of Sales, and suppliers to drive new product development.
