Our firm has been engaged on a search for an experienced Formulations Chemist to work in their headquarters in Tennessee.

Our client is a successful, privately owned chemicals organization that brings new and unique surfactant chemistries to market. They are a growing, fast-paced company in a brand new, state of the art lab where there will always be something to do. This role will involve working on multiple projects simultaneously with a lot of flexibility to formulate within reason. They also offer a strong work/life balance culture and a track record of promoting from within. The successful candidate, who is career motivated, will have the opportunity to advance, including management opportunities or roles on the commercial side if of interest. It all depends on the person and their career interests.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform all physical property tests and procedures accurately and precisely.
• Use good laboratory practices to record and file all test data accurately.
• Assist in drafting manufacturing procedures, technical data sheets, and other documentation.
• Care for and maintain specific instruments and lab equipment.
• Prepare lab standard test reagents and product samples.
• Support non-routine work, including equipment maintenance and large sample scale-up.
• Work independently at times and collaborate with various teams to complete large projects.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.

Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biology.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with computer software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
