Job summary

The Woodlands Township is seeking a Tree Inspector to perform routine site inspections of hazardous and unhealthy trees, assign work to crews or vendors, and support reforestation and vine maintenance programs. You will inspect 2,000 work orders annually, conduct high-level inspections, and audit contractor invoices while assisting with special township projects and events.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in urban forestry, 3 years of related experience, and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban forestry or related field required.
• Three (3) years of related experience or training preferred.
• Texas driver’s license within 90 days and ISA Certified Arborist within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Inspect 2,000 work orders annually (75% of workload).
• Perform Level 2 and Level 3 inspections with required tools.
• Create PM schedules for trees/sites needing monitoring.
• Conduct detailed tree risk assessments for non-removal trees.
• Audit invoices and data entry for accuracy of work and contracts.
• Assist with Vine Maintenance and Reforestation data tasks.
• Coordinate and assist with township events and special projects.
• Inspect assigned work truck weekly for preventative maintenance.
