Job summary

The Woodlands Township is seeking a Tree Inspector to perform routine site inspections of hazardous and unhealthy trees, assign work to crews or vendors, and support reforestation programs. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in urban forestry or related field and at least three years of related experience, plus ISA certification or equivalent within the first year.

Responsibilities include managing up to 2,000 inspections annually, creating PM schedules, and providing detailed tree risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban forestry or related field.
• Three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing tree inventories, conducting tree risk assessments, performing tree removals and implementing tree care programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting 2,000 work orders annually, which represents 75% of the workload.
• Inspect a minimum of 10 work orders per day.
• Perform all Level 2 and Level 3 inspections (may require tools such as air spade, ladders, drills).
• Create a PM schedule for trees/sites that need frequent monitoring.
• Perform detailed Tree Risk Assessments for trees the Township will not remove.
• Inspect Reforestation work orders for viability and provide estimates on tree counts.
• Assist with Reforestation data entry on work orders, spreadsheets, and maps.
• Assist with flagging tree locations at designated sites.
