Job summary

National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) is seeking an experienced Forester to support NRCS ACES program activities in California. The role is non-federal, focus on conservation planning and technical assistance, and targets experienced workers aged 55+.

Position involves field travel and collaboration with NRCS staff. The enrollee provides technical support for forestry planning, EQIP implementation, and CAP reviews, with benefits including health insurance and paid leave.

Qualifications

Minimum 20 years of Forestry experience or MA/MS in Agriculture/Natural Resources/Biology.
Valid CA Registered Professional Forester License required.
Valid State Driver's License.
Experience with NRCS conservation planning process.
Knowledge of conservation organizations and cultures.
Experience with Windows and MS Word.

Responsibilities

Provide forestry planning and implementation support to the state.
Develop Conservation Plans to implement EQIP and support EQIP activities.
Provide oversight and technical review of forestry conservation practice specifications.
Assist with training and certification programs (OJT and planning).
Travel to field offices and field sites; up to 24 days of travel.
