Job summary

Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation is seeking a Forest Management Supervisor to oversee program administration and advanced forestry functions within the Trust Land Management Division. You will coordinate planning, budgeting, and staff supervision to achieve conservation and revenue goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Management, 4 years of progressive forestry experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Forest Management or a related resource management field.
• 4 years of progressively responsible professional forestry experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage program administration and advanced professional forestry functions to generate revenue and meet objectives.
• Coordinate staff hiring decisions and set priorities for the unit.
• Develop employee development plans and evaluate performance with feedback and coaching.
• Budget annual program operating expenses and monitor the budget throughout the year.
• Represent the Department with the public, environmental groups, agencies, and private landowners.
