Job summary

Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Senior Forensic Analyst to lead crime scene processing and evidence collection. You will support latent print processing, DNA, and related analyses, with responsibilities including documenting scenes, managing evidence, and preparing court material.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a forensic-related field, 3–7 years of crime lab experience, IAI certification, and a valid driver’s license; location is Salt Lake County, Utah, with on-call

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of crime lab experience or 7 years of crime lab experience.
Latent print processing/analysis, firearms/NIBIN, digital evidence processing, FARO, or blood spatter experience preferred.
Must be IAI Certified Crime Scene Investigator at hire and obtain certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

Process crime scenes to locate latent prints, trace evidence, DNA and other physical evidence.
Document scenes with photography/video, notes, sketches and 3-D diagrams.
Manage evidence per SOPs, Federal Rules, and Daubert criteria.
Prepare reports, exhibits and court material; provide expert testimony when required.
Operate LiveScan and collect evidence; maintain chain of custody.
