Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a Senior Forensic Analyst to support crime scene processing and evidence collection. You may lead in a specialized area and work on latent prints, DNA, and other physical evidence.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in forensic science or related field and several years of lab experience; IAI certification is required by hire date, with licensure and driving eligibility as well.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forensic science or related field.
• 3 years of crime lab techniques experience; or 7 years in a recognized forensic lab.
• IAI certification as Crime Scene Investigator or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Phlebotomy license by time of hire or within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Process and document crime scenes, collect evidence and maintain chain of custody.
• Photograph and sketch scenes; prepare exhibits for court proceedings.
• Perform latent fingerprint and palm print processing; search and identification.
• Administer tests on physical evidence and interpret results.
• Provide expert testimony and deliver trainings as assigned.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialized equipment; ensure safety protocols.
