Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group in Atlanta, GA seeks a Fire Investigator to support our Georgia office operations. You will determine the origin and cause of fires, perform on-site forensic analyses, and prepare detailed reports that support subrogation and litigation efforts.

Ideal candidates have a CFEI/CFI license, 10+ years of experience, and an AAS in Fire Science. You will interact with clients, present findings, and travel as needed to inspect scenes and testify as an expert witness.

Qualifications

• Requires CFEI and/or CFI licensure.
• Minimum 10 years of related work experience.
• AAS in Fire Science or related experience as a fire investigator, firefighter, or law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Determines the origin and cause of structural, equipment, and vehicular fires and explosions.
• Secures the fire/explosion scene to prevent damage to evidence.
• Conducts on-site forensic fire analysis, including photography and witness interviews.
• Collects and labels evidence of arson; maintains chain of custody.
• Provides technical support to clients for subrogation and litigation.
• Conducts code compliance research (electrical, gas, installation).
• Facilitates and helps present continuing education seminars on fire topics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
