Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Fire Investigator to determine origins of fires, secure scenes, and perform on-site forensic analyses.

The role requires experience in fire investigation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to present findings in deposition or trial. Ideal candidates hold an AAS in Fire Science or related field, expect up to 50% travel, and may have IAAI-CFI or NAFI-CFEI certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Able to interact with clients at all levels.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and engineering/design software.
• Able to read and interpret technical reports and legal documents.
• Strong scope writing, budgeting, and reporting abilities.
• Capable of presenting information to management and clients.

Responsibilities

• Determine origin and cause of fires and explosions.
• Secure scenes to protect evidence.
• Conduct on-site fire analysis and testify as needed.
• Identify and collect evidence; maintain chain of custody.
• Provide technical support for subrogation and litigation.
• Research code compliance across electrical, gas, fire, and building codes.
• Assist in seminars and education events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
