Job summary

The Vertex Companies, LLC is seeking a Senior Forensic Engineer to join our testifying expert team. You will provide testimony and expert support on civil cases, including construction defect matters, while leading a team of consultants and contributing to business development and client satisfaction.

In this role, you will mentor staff, oversee project delivery, and collaborate with clients across markets, aligning with Vertex’s focus on learning, urgency, value, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of related experience or a Master’s degree and 12 years of related experience, with 7+ years in a leadership role with significant impact.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensed is required, with multiple states preferred.
• Previous deposition and testimony experience is required.
• Proven track record of customer relationship management and staff management and development
• Demonstrated leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Support MD in meeting or exceeding defined annual budget for the practice area, including revenue and utilization targets.
• Develop and retain new accounts and expand existing engagements within the practice area.
• Delegate assignments to direct reports and ensure high-quality work product.
• Monitor utilization, Accounts Receivable, and discretionary spending.
• Develop relationships with decision makers in key accounts and cross-sell services.
• Meet and exceed defined utilization goals and contribute to revenue.
• Engage in business development to generate incremental revenue.
• Identify potential new market segments and alert MD for evaluations.
• Travel as necessary to support client, employee, and leadership needs.
• Establish quality control of service delivery and maintain a high reputation for quality.
