Job summary

The Vertex Companies, LLC is seeking a Senior Forensic Engineer to lead testifying support in civil matters, including construction defect litigation. The role emphasizes developing a high-performing team of consultants, mentoring staff, and meeting client expectations while aligning with the practice's strategic goals.

The ideal candidate has PE licensure, extensive deposition experience, and a proven ability to manage complex engagements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 15 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 12 years, with 7+ years in a leadership role.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensed is required, with multiple states preferred.
  • Previous deposition and testimony experience is required.
  • Proven track record of customer relationship management and staff management and development.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support MD in meeting or exceeding the defined annual budget for the practice area.
  • Develop and retain new accounts; expand engagements within the practice area to achieve sales goals.
  • Effectively delegate assignments to direct reports, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality work product.
  • Monitor utilization, Accounts Receivable, discretionary spending, and other relevant data.
  • Develop relationships with decision makers in key accounts and cross-sell services.
  • Meet or exceed defined individual utilization and revenue targets as set by leadership.
  • Identify potential new market segments and alert MD for evaluations and consideration.
  • Travel as necessary to support clients, employees, and leadership needs.
  • Establish quality control of service delivery and maintain a strong reputation for client satisfaction.
  • Lead and manage in support of strategic plans and profit objectives for the practice.
  • Build strong cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and success.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and applicable regulations across operations.
