Job summary

CBIZ Advisory in the United States (California) seeks a Litigation Senior/Forensic Accountant to perform preliminary valuation, forensic and appraisal analyses and to create models for expert testimony. The role requires supervising staff, managing multiple assignments, and liaising with clients and partners to resolve issues.

You will work with discovery teams to inventory and reconcile documents, assist in exhibits preparation, and uphold the highest professional standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred.
• 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field.
• 1 year supervisory experience.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
• Proficient use of applicable technology.
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary valuation, forensic, and appraisal analyses, including development of comparative adjusted financial statements and data input for expert witness exhibits.
• Lead activities at the senior level, interfacing with associates for project management, time management, supervision and guidance.
• Apply knowledge of statutory and family codes and their relevance to accounting principles in forensic engagements.
• Participate in client assignments from start to end.
• Create forensic and economics models for presentation of forensic standard accounting systems.
• Identify and communicate issues and opportunities with managers and partners to resolve client issues.
• Collaborate with discovery team to inventory and reconcile documents for court submissions.
• Assist in preparation of exhibits and background information for expert witness testimony.
• Maintain high professional standards, client confidentiality and conduct.
