Job summary

CBIZ Employee Services Organization is seeking a Forensic Accounting and Litigation Associate (2026) in Laguna Niguel, CA. The role involves performing preliminary valuation, forensic analyses, and data preparation for expert witness exhibits, with involvement from start to finish on client engagements.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree with internship experience; CPA eligibility is preferred and a Master’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA eligible preferred.
• Master's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Internship experience in accounting or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, taxation, and regulatory codes.

Responsibilities

• Performance of preliminary valuation, forensic, and appraisal analyses, including development of comparative adjusted financial statements and data input for expert witness exhibits.
• Understand accounting framework, tax law, and audit methodologies and their applicability to litigation.
• Develop knowledge of statutory and family codes applicable to forensic accounting.
• Participate in client assignments from beginning to end.
• Create forensic and economic models for presenting conclusions.
• Execute complex procedures within standard accounting systems.
• Communicate case issues and findings with senior staff to resolve client issues.
• Assist in inventorying and reconciling documents for submission to courts and clients.
• Assist in preparation of exhibits and background information for expert testimony.
• Maintain professional standards and confidentiality.
