Job summary

M&T Bank in Clanton, Alabama, is seeking a Foreclosure Operations Specialist to monitor the foreclosure workflow, ensure compliance with investor guidelines, and provide SME support to the team.

You will coordinate with foreclosure attorneys, manage a portfolio of loans involved in complex litigation, approve certain legal fees, and drive process improvements while maintaining risk and regulatory controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in Default Servicing (Collections, REO, Loss Mitigation).
• Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor foreclosures progress to align with investor guidelines.
• Serve as primary escalation contact for associates, attorneys and other departments.
• Ensure FHA 1st legal deadlines are met after referral to foreclosure.
• Research and update loans on foreclosure exception reports and investor timelines.
• Approve additional attorney fees beyond the associate-level limit.
• Perform QC review and approval of investor bidding instructions.
• Conduct regular reviews of assigned loans and update documentation every 30 days.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, regulatory and investor guidelines.
• Assist management in updating procedures and creating new ones, plus assemble presentations.
• Adhere to compliance/operational risk controls and audit points.
• Maintain internal controls and reflect M&T Bank brand in processes.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
