Job summary

University of Oklahoma is seeking a first line assistant supervisor for Union Market. You will oversee preparation, cooking, serving, and maintaining standards as the team works to provide quality food service on campus.

This essential role may require working evenings, weekends, and during inclement weather. Qualifications include a high school diploma or culinary training and at least 12 months in restaurant/customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or culinary school.
• 12 months of restaurant/customer service experience.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handlers License.
• ServSafe Certification preferred by department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, production and serving of food items for Union Market.
• Supervise and assign work to food service workers and students; ensure best practices.
• Cook, clean, serve and complete administrative duties as assigned.
• Respond to varying schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Job description

Pay Range: Targeted pay up to $15.00 hourly, based on experience.

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Varies based on business needs. Will be required to work home football game days. Essential position and may be required to work during inclement weather or other campus closure.

Travel: May be required

Position Introduction:

This position serves as a first line assistant supervisor responsible for preparation, production and/or serving of food items for Union Market. Will work to hold restaurant employees to all best practices. Determines work priorities and assigns work to food service workers and students, while also cooking, cleaning, serving and completing necessary administrative responsibilities. Will complete other duties as assigned.

Normally, employees on a 5 hour shift receive a free meal. Uniforms are provided at no cost, but must be maintained by the employee.

As essential personnel you may be required to work during University closings or inclement weather. Nights and weekends may apply for any operations.

Hepatitis A Vaccine required if hired, or annual testing.

Cleveland County Food Handlers Card required within onboarding period.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED or graduate of culinary school.
• 12 months of restaurant/customer service experience.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

• Ability to obtain a Food Handlers License

Department Preferences:

• ServSafe Certification
• 12 months of restaurant kitchen/cooking supervisory experience.
