Compensation Overview of the Position:

  • Full-time, Regular
  • Starting range: $21.90 - $24.49 per hour
  • 40 hours a week, 9-months position (Schedule based on business needs)
  • Teamsters Union Job Classification

Overview:

UMD Dining Services offers diverse dining options across campus, including residential dining, food courts, coffee shops, kiosks, and catering. This is a lead worker position responsible for operating kitchen equipment, organizing work groups, and providing high-level customer service.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and serve food following safety procedures
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment
  • Maintain sanitation standards
  • Dishwashing
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Communicate operational issues
  • Lead responsibilities: customer service, training, task assignment

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support dining operations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Two years relevant experience or education in large food operations
  • Ability to perform recipe conversions accurately
  • English reading, writing, and communication skills

  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication, record keeping
  • Ability to multitask, organize, plan, and prioritize
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $21.90 - $24.49, depending on qualifications

Appointment Category: 75%-100%

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Staff
