Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood in Walton, KY is seeking a Lead Food Safety & Quality to oversee daily QA/QC operations across the production process from raw materials to final packaging. You will work with multiple departments to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance with GMPs and customer requirements.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, 5+ years in food safety/quality, a related degree, and knowledge of HACCP/FSQ standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 5+ years of full-time related work experience in food service, manufacturing or distribution quality/food safety.
• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Biology or related field preferred.
• HACCP and/or FDA Preventive Control Qualified Individual, SQF and/or BRC Practitioner preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing day-to-day plant operations of the Department and monitor processes to meet quality and food safety requirements.
• Perform daily quality inspections and product sampling; report findings to leadership.
• Ensure GMPs/GWP compliance and train employees on food handling policies.
• Coordinate testing of finished products, raw materials, and packaging components.
• Investigate food safety incidents and customer complaints; support corrective actions.
