Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood is seeking a Lead Food Safety & Quality professional in Walton, KY to oversee the department and ensure compliance with regulatory, business, and customer requirements. You will manage QA/QC processes across the production cycle from receiving materials to final packaging.

The role requires strong leadership, training, and collaboration with multiple departments to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement in food safety programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 5+ years of related work experience in food service, manufacturing or distribution.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
• HACCP and/or FDA Preventive Controls Qualified Individual, SQF and/or BRC Practitioner preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations of the Department and monitor processes to meet quality and food safety requirements.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs/GWPs and SOPs; train staff on food handling policies.
• Conduct daily/weekly/monthly inspections and report findings for corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing results for finished products, raw materials and packaging components.
• Investigate food safety incidents and customer complaints; support QA/QC objectives.
