Job summary

The Haskell Company in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Senior Process Mechanical Estimator to develop accurate, comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale food and beverage manufacturing projects. You will analyze drawings, specifications and requirements to produce detailed quantity takeoffs for mechanical systems and process equipment.

Responsibilities include budgeting, bid proposals, risk assessments, value engineering, and coordinating with engineering, operations, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management or related curriculum.
• Minimum 5 years estimating experience, or 15+ years in construction.
• Experience packaging mechanical scopes for large-scale projects.
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency with Beck Destini Estimator and FastPIPE.

Responsibilities

• Develop project budgets and bid proposals.
• Perform risk assessments and identify potential cost or schedule impacts.
• Support value engineering to optimize project performance and cost.
• Utilize estimating software and construction methodologies for accurate estimates.
• Communicate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Maintain thorough project documentation and takeoffs.
• Review drawings and equipment schedules for projects.
• Develop material, labor, and equipment cost estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals for alignment with project requirements.
• Prepare bid packages with pricing summaries, clarifications, exclusions, and risk assessments.
• Participate in constructability reviews with engineering, operations, and PM.
• Support cost-saving alternatives without compromising design intent.
• Stay updated on industry pricing and installation methodology.
• Assist preconstruction and handoff activities as needed.
