Job summary

Sensient Technologies Corporation is seeking an Application Scientist to turn food science expertise into great-tasting solutions. You will work hands-on in the laboratory, collaborating with flavor and color scientists to solve customer challenges and bring ideas to life.

This onsite role is based in St. Louis, Missouri, with quarterly travel to Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and occasional visits to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science, biology, chemistry or related field.
• 5+ years in a food applications laboratory with flavor experience.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on flavor application and product development across sweet, beverage, and savory categories.
• Provide technical expertise and recommend flavor technologies for application projects.
• Provide technical taste support to customers and participate in customer workshops at Sensient’s food color laboratories.
• Conduct sensory evaluations and operate and interpret results from laboratory equipment.
• Prepare and document samples according to company procedures, complete projects efficiently, perform basic mathematical calculations and unit conversions.
