Job summary
CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a Senior FOIA Paralegal to join our team supporting the legal mission of a large federal agency. This role involves conducting searches, reviewing documents, and performing legal research to support FOIA requests and litigation tasks.
Ideal candidates will have a paralegal certificate or JD, experience with eDiscovery tools, and strong written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications
- Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
- At least one year of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful.
- Experience with eDiscovery tools (Nuix Investigate, Relativity) strongly desired.
- Experience processing FOIA requests and knowledge of FOIA rules and exemptions.
- Strong legal knowledge with citation skills and research tool proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct searches and analyze result sets to separate non-responsive from responsive documents.
- Screen responsive documents for privilege or FOIA exemptions.
- Redact and code responsive documents.
- Perform legal research and draft legal documents.
