Job summary

Vast is seeking a Supervisor, Fluid Systems Manufacturing in Long Beach to lead technicians and ensure safe, efficient production of space station components. You will guide welding, bending, and assembly operations, maintain documentation, and push continuous improvement on safety, quality, and cost.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in aerospace manufacturing, a technical bachelor’s degree, and experience in developing or sustaining production processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting metallic structures or assemblies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or comparable STEM field.
• Experience developing, implementing, or sustaining manufacturing processes, tooling, or production systems.
• Experience leading small teams, projects, or work streams in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians in fluid systems manufacturing and provide daily direction and feedback.
• Execute manufacturing processes such as orbital tube welding and tube bending.
• Maintain accurate manufacturing docs, work instructions, routings, inspections, and ERP/MRP updates.
• Collaborate with Quality and Design Engineering to investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Provide manufacturability feedback and support transitions from development to production.
• Monitor production performance and drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Support structural assembly builds and inspections to ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Assist floor layout planning, capacity analysis, and workflow optimization.
• Provide hands-on floor support to troubleshoot issues in real time.
