Job summary

Insight Global is representing a client seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead projects focused on designing and managing fluid systems in a process manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include developing pumping and pipeline processes, ensuring material compatibility, and overseeing instrumentation.

The role involves budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, and compliance with industry standards for fluid-related projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
5–8 years of experience in a process manufacturing environment (chemical or petroleum preferred).
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D), Microsoft Office, and Plant 3D.
Travel up to 25% and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and implement fluid processes, including pumping systems, pipelines, and tanks.
Ensure material compatibility and select components such as hoses, valves, strainers, filters, flow meters, heat exchangers, and fittings.
Configure liquid storage tanks and related equipment (heating, insulation, level and temperature measurement).
Manage instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature gauges) and support packaging line throughput metrics.
Participate in project implementation, including testing, installation, and commissioning.
Assist in managing capital projects, controlling scope, schedule, and budget.
Develop and enforce engineering standards and procedures.
Support company expansion and cost-reduction initiatives.
