Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Flow Cytometry Technologist III to join a fast‑paced environment working with clinicians, leadership, and researchers. You will apply advanced flow cytometry expertise to support clinical diagnoses and research goals, operate analyzers and sorters, and help develop new lab procedures.

The role requires a Bachelor's in natural sciences, 5 years of lab experience, and substantial flow cytometry and sorting cytometer operation experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences required.
• Five years of laboratory experience required.
• Five years of flow cytometry experience required.
• Two years of experience operating a sorting flow cytometer required.

Responsibilities

• Processes clinical and research samples, operates flow cytometers, and reports results.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and coordinates repairs for analyzers and sorting flow cytometers.
• Coordinates instrument appointments and maintains the billing database.
• Archives clinical and research data and reanalyzes archived data as needed.
• Assists clinicians and researchers with data analysis for patient reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Trains technologists to operate flow cytometers and conducts instrument demonstrations and tours.
• Prepares, acquires, and analyzes specimens, including blood, bone marrow, exudates, and scrapings.
• Reviews quality assurance and quality control documentation and performs assays according to departmental and College of American Pathologists standards.
• Prepares and submits patient reports, archives data daily, and prepares documentation for inspections.
• Maintains reagent and consumable inventory, tracks lot numbers and expiration dates, and performs quality control checks on reagents.
