Job summary

Ritsema Associates in Kalamazoo, MI seeks an experienced Flooring Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple flooring projects. This role provides leadership to foremen and crews, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship. Daily travel between job sites is required.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of commercial flooring materials and installation processes.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in the commercial flooring industry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and quality control practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support flooring project operations, including foremen and field personnel across multiple job sites.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality expectations.
• Attend weekly superintendent meetings to coordinate manpower and assignments.
• Coordinate procurement of long‑lead materials with estimators, project managers, and purchasers.
• Review foremen’s logbooks and productivity reports; address jobsite challenges or inefficiencies.
• Inspect work quality and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Oversee subcontractor buyouts, pay rates, scheduling, and invoice verification.
• Submit weekly timesheets to payroll.
