Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Sr Staff Test Pilot for Flight Test Operations. This role supports development, assessment and demonstration of NGC products and systems, flying up to 1,000 flight hours per year across six aircraft.

You will plan and execute test flights, maintain currency in multiple aircraft types, and provide technical liaison with program teams for sensor development in varied airspace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 14 years professional/military experience; Master's 12 years; PhD 10 years.
• Graduate from an internationally recognized Test Pilot School long course.
• Current FAA Class II medical certificate or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Minimum 1000 hours fixed wing Aircraft Commander/PIC in turbojet, turbofan or turboprop.
• U.S. Citizenship and interim Secret Security Clearance required to start.

Responsibilities

• Be a critical member of a team that flies 1,000 flight hours per year conducting flight test on 6 aircraft for 40+ sensor development programs.
• Participate in large force exercises to showcase technology in operational environments.
• Maintain currency in multiple aircraft types: CRJ-700, Dash 8, Learjet 60XR, L-39 Albatros.
• Plan and execute test flights to verify analysis for aircraft modifications.
• Plan and execute flight operations in the NAS including Special Use Airspace with military coordination.
• Provide technical support and liaison with program teams for sensor integration.
• Other duties as assigned.
