Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in the United States seeks a seasoned Flight Test Pilot 4 to lead critical flight test programs at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Kansas City area.

You will serve as Pilot in Command for high-risk tests, lead complex flight test projects, and craft advanced certification plans for novel features. You will mentor junior pilots, coordinate with engineering, and guide test strategies that advance Garmin's product roadmap and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
• Total flight time of at least 2,000 hours.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate.
• Flight Test DER or ODA Unit Member Qualification.
• 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Pilot in Command for experimental aircraft with significant design changes.
• Acts as Flight Test Project Lead for complex projects and develops test strategies.
• Proposes new designs addressing unmet operational needs.
• Maintains multiple test aircraft configurations and coordinates with engineering teams.
• Serves as a test aircraft operations expert for project and maintenance teams.
• Authors certification plans and contributes to regulatory submissions.
