Job summary

Mach Industries in the United States is seeking a flight test engineer to specialize in flight test operations for developing UAS aircraft, reporting to the head of flight ops, and collaborating with system engineering leads to generate and execute test plans. You will develop CONOPs, safety analyses, and conduct readiness reviews, with testing conducted on private and DoD ranges.

Some out-of-state or occasional OCONUS travel will be required as the team scales.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required unless significant relevant experience can be demonstrated.
• Minimum of 5 years in related aerospace with preferably UAS flight test engineering.
• Multi-talented across overall test ops and leading engineering requirements.
• Willing to be in the field regularly for 1-3 days and travel to test ranges.

Responsibilities

• Central coordination for flight test operations.
• Inform engineering on requirements for systems checks and data systems.
• Build out test infrastructure at primary test sites and outfit test equipment (GCS).
• Lead testing workflow: planning, readiness reviews, dry runs, test day, post-test reviews.
• Keep product development informed of all test requirements.
• Construct program flight test campaigns with system, GNC, and energetics engineers.
• Coordinate and plan flight test demos.
• Provide technical advisory on test operations.
