Job summary

JT4, LLC seeks an experienced Flight Test Engineer to join our test team as Test Conductor with potential to become Test Director. The role involves planning, conducting, and reporting on ground and flight tests for military aircraft, in a Mission Control Room.

Applicants should have ABET engineering degree and 10+ years related experience or MS with 2+ years; US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance are required; willingness for occasional travel and shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5 years of related Test Conductor experience or Master’s Degree in Engineering with 2 years of related Test Conductor experience.
• Well-established professional reputation in one or more principal technical disciplines.
• Ability to direct technical operations personnel in projects.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Planning/organizing skills and knowledge of computer systems and engineering tools.
• Overtime, non-standard shifts, and weekend work may be required.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Plan, test reporting, and scheduling mission requirements for ground and flight tests by developing flight/ground test cards.
• Determine and communicate aircraft test/configuration requirements to engineering, maintenance, and flight operations teams.
• Conduct test missions from a control room.
• Perform Test Conductor duties after all qualification criteria have been met.
• Lead the control room team, test mission briefings, and post-flight debriefs.
• Become a Unit Test Safety Officer (UTSO) reviewing and signing off on flight test safety plans.
• Develop plans for upcoming testing and brief/remove issues in the Mission Control Room.
