Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experimental flight test experience as a Flight Test Engineer, incl. 5+ years as Test Conductor.
• Excellent interpersonal skills across technical disciplines.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in reading and speaking English.
• Flexibility to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of development, company, and certification flight testing of Joby S4 as a Test Conductor.
• Develop flight test methods, planning, readiness reviews, briefs/debriefs, real-time data monitoring, and post flight reporting.
• Develop flight test programs to expand the envelope from development to certification.
• Possibly lead flight test activities for an assigned flight test aircraft.
• Collaborate with test pilots and engineering groups to develop plans and ensure safe test execution.
• Advise flight pilots on data to inform real-time safety decisions.
• Conduct engineering analysis of flight test data.
• Report completed tests and findings of compliance with requirements.
• Handle configuration management, squawk reporting, flight limitation management, and test cards.
• Assist with troubleshooting and root cause investigation.
• Develop expert knowledge of the systems and aircraft under test.
• Develop flight manuals and supporting docs for safe operation.
• Other duties as assigned.
