Job summary

APT Research in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to support the MDA MAPSS Safety contract. This role focuses on launch and ground safety for flight-test operations and requires extensive knowledge of safety analyses and risk assessment.

You will provide on-site safety support, review safety documentation, and help prepare risk classifications and verification packages, coordinating with government stakeholders and contractor teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering with 10+ years in system safety engineering.
• BS in Engineering with 15 years in system/software safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide system safety support to MDA for data products and act as on-site safety point of contact for FT/FTF activities.
• Review contractor safety documentation such as Safety Assessment Reports, Hazard Analyses, Flight Safety Data Packages, and Explosive Safety Data Packages.
• Develop quality, safety and mission assurance charts and support major milestone reviews (PDR, SRR, CDR, PSRR).
• Co-chair RCC tailoring TIMs and maintain TC RCC documents for each program.
• Support/Co Chair Ground Safety, Range Safety, and System Safety Working Groups.
