Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) seeks a System Safety Engineer to lead system safety and hazard management for NASA Armstrong flight research programs. This onsite role requires building and maintaining safety plans, conducting CRM, and presenting hazard status to management.

The ideal candidate has engineering or physical science degrees with 3+ years of experience in safety analyses such as FMEA/FTA and leading cross‑functional teams. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Professional degrees in Engineering (Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electronics, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, and/or Mechanical).
• Sciences: Mathematics, Chemistry, or Physics.
• Technology: Electronics Technology, Computer Science, Human Factors, Safety, Industrial Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide System Safety expertise to Project Teams and develop safety plans for flight and ground operations.
• Maintain Continuous Risk Management (CRM) and analyze hazards.
• Lead System Safety Working Group discussions and mitigate project risks.
