Job summary

K2 Space in the United States is seeking a senior software engineer to help build and verify flight software for some of the largest spacecraft flown. You will contribute to real-time control, fault-tolerant architectures, and telemetry downlink across multiple missions.

You will write mission-critical code in Rust, C/C++, Python, VHDL, and SystemVerilog, from embedded platforms to flight computers, and work with hardware-in-the-loop validation to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or 5+ years software engineering experience.
• Proficient with Rust, C/C++, Python, VHDL, SystemVerilog.
• Experience in real-time and embedded software.

Responsibilities

• Create real-time, fault-tolerant software architecture for 20kW+ spacecraft
• Develop software for control of propulsion, guidance/attitude, thermal, power, and communications subsystems
• Design and implement state machines for robust spacecraft operation
• Create tools for rapid deployment of high-quality code
• Perform data analysis and anomaly investigation to debug software
• Support integration and testing of spacecraft subsystems
• Operate code on multiple spacecraft in hardware-in-the-loop environments
