Job summary

Joby Aviation seeks an Operational Evaluation Deployment Lead to direct CONUS and OCONUS flight operations for the J208 program. You will supervise a multi-disciplinary deployed team, coordinate logistics, and ensure strict regulatory and safety compliance, with up to 50% travel.

You will work on site in Concord, CA, engaging with military and civil stakeholders, managing field sustainment and turnout, and delivering mission-ready operations while aligning with program leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline with 8+ years of operational experience.
• Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent practical expertise.
• Proven experience leading deployed flight operations or field sustainment teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead CONUS/OCONUS civil and military flight operations and sustainment for the J208 program.
• Serve as on-site operational leader overseeing flight preparation and field sustainment plans.
• Interface with military, civil, and customer stakeholders to align mission requirements and site support.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety frameworks, and policy guidelines.
• Represent the program to customers and collaborate with program leads to drive success.
• Manage a multi-disciplinary deployed team including pilots, remote operators, and field engineers.
• Coordinate field maintenance, turnaround, and ground-support logistics at remote airfields.
