Job summary

Kent State University is seeking a Lead Flight Specialist to provide dedicated flight instruction at the Kent Campus in Kent, OH. The role reports to the Chief Flight Instructor and focuses on delivering FAR 141-based training within the collegiate program.

Responsibilities include leading student instruction, coordinating flight training schedules, managing electronic records, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of six months' experience as a certified flight instructor, including FAR 141 flight instruction experience.
• Must be in good standing with the Aviation Industry.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a flight instructor.
• Serve as the lead instructor for students in a hold-over flight status.
• Coordinate scheduling of students, instructors, and resources for flight training; monitor student progression; participate in meetings with flight training personnel.
• Assist in managing an electronic flight training records system for all flight training personnel.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
