Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Flight Inspector4 in Emerado, ND to join the Grand Sky Mission Assurance team. You will lead front-line quality checks, inspect flight-critical hardware, and ensure compliance with specifications and documentation before acceptance.

The role requires a formal aviation inspection background, MBD in MRB/RCCA, and the ability to interpret aerospace drawings. Opportunities include meaningful impact on safety and reliability of flight systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance if required by program.
• Experience in flight-line or air vehicle acceptance inspections.
• Experience supporting MRB and RCCA activities for nonconforming material or intake escapes.
• Experience interpreting complex aerospace drawings, specifications, and configuration baselines.
• Proficiency with MES Manufacturing Execution System.
• Experience in AS9100 or DCMA oversight environment.
• Background in quality assurance or supplier quality within aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspection on flight-critical hardware including LRUs, cable assemblies and ESD devices.
• Validate supplier documentation prior to material acceptance.
• Execute inspection activities per quality specifications and program requirements.
• Administer Air Vehicle Acceptance Testing procedures and coordinate with System Test Engineers.
• Initiate Nonconformance Reports and support MRB documentation.
• Apply visual, dimensional and documentation-based inspection techniques; enforce holds.
• Support RCCA activities when issues are identified.
• Inspect aircraft systems and components for operation and conformance.
• Inspect installation and operation of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other systems.
• Perform preflight and post-flight inspections and approve non-flight-proven aircraft for flight.
• Monitor quality using SPC or other QC methods.
• Perform other duties in support of Mission Assurance.
