Job summary

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team in Hazelwood, MO, seeks a Senior Flight Engineering Manager to lead the Flight Engineering team across multiple development efforts, including Advanced Air Dominance Platforms. This role requires deep experience in flight engineering disciplines and a strong track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams.

You will manage engineers and mid‑level managers, guide technical strategies, acquire resources, and ensure schedules, budgets and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Candidates must have at least three years in a leadership role or completed Boeing's Exploring Leadership course with prior management experience.
• 10 years of experience in a Flight engineering discipline (GNC, Aerodynamics, Loads & Dynamics, Propulsion, Mass Properties, or Configuration).
• 5 years of Cross IPT Leadership and Coordination Experience.

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Flight Engineering Manager to join our Flight Engineering team that supports multiple development efforts including Advanced Air Dominance Platformsin Hazelwood, MO.

Position Responsibilities

• Manages employees and mid-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Flight Engineering.
• Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
• Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
• Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• Candidates must have at least three years of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functionalproject/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership” with prior management experience
• 10 years of experience in a Flight engineering discipline [GNC, Aerodynamics, Loads & Dynamics, Propulsion, Mass Properties, or Configuration]
• 5 years of Cross IPT Leadership and Coordination Experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

• Experience with Flight Testing
• Experience with Scheduling, Budget and Planning
• Prior Experience with Technical Guidance and Oversight of Large Multi-skilled Teams
• Mentoring or Technical Lead Engineer Experience
• Current TS Clearance

Summary pay range: $205,700 - $278,300
