Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation, based in Colorado Springs, CO, invites applications for a Senior Engineering Specialist. This hybrid role requires onsite presence at least four days a week to support flight mechanics analysis, trajectory design, and atmospheric modeling for national space programs.

The successful candidate will advise government customers, develop analysis tools, and mentor junior staff, while collaborating across teams to deliver integrated space solutions.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or related field.
• 12 years of relevant professional, technical work experience.
• Experience in space mission analysis and design, advanced astrodynamics, algorithm design, software development, or trajectory optimization.

Responsibilities

• Advise key stakeholders and government customers by performing flight mechanics and mission design modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Orchestrate technical deep dives, trade studies, and assessments for customers such as the U.S. Space Force and NRO.
• Develop and present timely and accurate briefings and reports communicating analysis results and recommended solutions.
• Lead and guide the development and maturation of analysis software tools, implementation of best practices, and tool modernization.
• Provide technical mentoring to junior staff and customer personnel.
