Job summary

Ōura is seeking an experienced Flex DFM Engineer to drive world-class manufacturing processes for flex/rigid-flex PCBA at our component and EMS partners. You will sit at the interface of R&D, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to de-risk builds, raise yields, and ensure suppliers ramp on time and at quality.

You will embed our manufacturing standards at the supplier level, qualify vendor sites, and lead optimization efforts to ensure smooth transitions from NPI to mass production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in PCB manufacturing or PCB supplier management.
• Deep knowledge of flex substrate fabrication.
• Strong understanding of IPC and JEDEC standards.
• Experience optimizing PCB panel design balancing material, cost and capacity.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders at varying levels of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Execute DFM based on PCB supplier fabrication limitations and guide design engineers to optimize PCB layouts.
• Maintain specifications, design guidelines, and design rule roadmap for flexible printed circuits.
• Conduct PCB supplier audits and develop criteria to ensure high quality.
• Analyze defects in flexible printed circuits and lead improvement activities across the supply chain.
• Hold suppliers accountable for quality issues and field escalations through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Own collaborative development projects with vendors, including design feedback and improvements.
• Qualify vendor manufacturing sites and lines to ensure smooth transitions from NPI to mass production ramp.
